Better go for quantity over quality and only choose those that are related. Doing that way, you'll save a lot of time and will have more quality backlinks so you can spend those times on doing other things like making your articles.

Remember, relevance of backlinks is not as important at ALL search engines as it is at Google, although I'm sure that most of the major engines are making relevancy more and more important in their algorithm. If your focus is ranking at Google then yes, focus primarily on getting links from relevant sites. But even links from non relevant sites likely provide at least some SEO benefit at Google as long as the link text is relevant... but may provide even more benefits at other engines where relevancy is not as important.

well, you know the truth is, every dofollow link will help to a certain extent, but relevant dofollow links will help more than irrelevant links, and because your time is also worth something, it's better to focus on getting relevant links not random comments in random blogs.

I've tried commenting in do follow blogs, but I did not succeed. Simply because, blogs are moderated by the owner. So there are no assurance that your comment will be approved. Especially when your blog is related to them. Try another process, a way that provides a good result.

yes, if you can go through quality instead of quantity then it would be better for your website ranking because if you have quality link then search engine gives important to your website.
