I have hired somebody to do blog commenting. After the job was completed I noticed that 80% of all comments have a nofollow tag within the link that leads to my site. Also many of the comments not get approved at all. Could you please share your experience with blog commenting you have done in the past. I also added a poll to this thread to make it easy for DP members to state their opinion or experience.
1. Nofollow is fine. They still pass some PR. Google would notice something was up if you got nothing but dofollow links. 2. More than likely he just threw out stupid comments and used your keyword for the name. Don't pay anyone to comment on blogs again. Do it yourself. It takes maybe 5 minutes per blog and you'll actually learn a lot about a variety of subjects. Plus you'll be able to write the comment yourself and you'll actually be writing about what you read so it will be far more likely to be accepted than "cool post", "I like this", and "added to rss" that all get marked as spam when they hit my blogs. Because then he would have 99.9% comments rejected and be blacklisted from a ton of sites.
here is a simple explanation what is no follow: if you would like to prevent Googlebot from crawling any links on a page, use the "nofollow".. the crawler only but not the visitors.. so it still helps..
If you use do follow blog commenting strategy, its highly beneficial. you must take care of 1. Comments should be relevant and real, dnt spam. 2. Give real email address, incase the webmaster does a followup 3. Use gravatar at wordpress.com to upload your image, makes it authentic. 4. Some webmaster are picky, wont allow you to use anchor text as name, leave them not worth it. 5. There are thousands of blogs/websites which allow auto approved comments and have amazing pr, you should know where to find them [check my sig for tht ]
No-follow blog comments will not help to increase page rank but it will give visitors. Using software for blog comments is not a good choice, blog admin can easily find out to mark it as spam.

Comments are what separates a blog from a static website. As the conversation builds, so will your relationship with your readers and so will your blog's popularity. Thanks.....
Blog commenting is unethical and it is a form of spaming i highly suggest that you should not do this technique because it is just a waste of time and it will make your site look like a spam
If you have a blog of similar kind then blog commenting will give you more reader on your website from those blogs.
Blog Commenting is still effective. Even if they use Nofollow tag, you can still get a little traffic if you leave a good response. Never leave spam comments like "thanks for the info" or "great post thanks" . It does not make you look good at all.
you can hire any worker who can do only dofollow blog commenting. it is a great way to increase ranking.
