I have a blog commenting SEO service, I have a network of about a 1000 and growing blogs and use proper anchor text and it works. My blogs are aged and high PR though so this makes a difference. So in my experience blog comments work.
Please go through this link, it is really helpful for the beginners - http://hellboundbloggers.com/2011/06/09/be-a-hero-on-blog-commenting/
It depends on type of blog some required posting links in bnody but others require url in place of name its quite simple.
i've seen some pretty successful / high-ranked websites that use a lot of forum posting. seems to be working.
comments are very useful for a blog and also the commentator. read this article: http://www.techxpot.com/2011/06/increasing-comments-for-your-blog/ I think it has answers for your questions.
Hi what is the right way to post on forum while advertising your site? Mine is I put it in anchor text but some moderator delete my post. I'm newbie here and I want to learn the right way. Thanks
Well, if you start a new discussion thread that points to an interesting article on your website, then that will appear to be less "spammy".
Fundamentally an accurate statement but "less spammy" is still spam and should not be done. I don't know what others do but when I get that sorta stuff I usually send folks a not so pleasant letter, flag them on WOT as spammers(the site they are spamming) and so on. Hopefully its a growing trend. Nigel
Blog commenting is also a powerful tool to create back links but you need to use tips and tricks to use it. Be a part of the blog, post your comments related to write-up only and then you can also leave your website link through anchor text strategically.
It depends if the blog is a do-follow or not, if it is a do-follow you get a backlink that is indexed and given relevancy to your site
