If you get anchored keywords from dofollow blogs (name or incontent links), it will increase serp ranking and page rank. Overall, blog commenting on dofollow blogs will work for Google SEO.

 

Non spamy comments on do follow blogs help to increase backlinks but does not assure ranking.

Like others have mentioned, it is a great tool in the SEO toolbox, just keep your comments related to the article, you'll have a difficult time getting generic/spammy comments approved from the blog owner.

 

Here's a list of DoFollow blogs with high PR. Keep the comments relevant, and post in blogs related to your niche. Its a short list, but there are thousands more out there. You just have to search for it.

Yeah blog commenting is the one of the effective techniques in link building. But make sure that your comment is related to the post and you're not doing nonsense comment.

It was effective few years back. Most of the people don't know that nowadays most of the blogs carry "no follow" tag and hence whatever you comment won't help in SEO. And even those who have follow tag changes it to no follow after sometime due to excess spamming.

 

That's why there is a big trend for dofollow blog commenting. All we know that nofollow blog case, But there is an issue even in dofollow blogs. If we try to spam in those dofollow blogs, then Admin will change it to nofollow.
So we must avoid abusing it. Just do basics.

if you use keyword phrase in the name column when you're leaving comments, that will give you backlinks to your blog and the blog is must be do-follow blog.
