    Blog commenting is still effective.
    But few basic things you should remember:
    • Do manual comment.
    • Do not use any software/tools for commenting blog.
    • Do not use keywords in the name section.
    • Always use real name in the name section.

    You kind of have to be really good to make it to work, especially long-term.
    My main goal is to leave comments on relevant blogs from which I can get real traffic these days.
    It of helps SEO - good, if not - whatever.
    For example, you can use software like buzzbundle to find blog posts by keywords, leave comments and then track the links you get from them.

    It's better to have 100 high quality, manually posted, well thought out and relevant blog comments on highly related niche blogs, rather than 1000 spun comments, auto generated and auto posted by software. It might take you a little while longer to get manually created blog comments, but you would also have the side benefit of actually getting real readers off the real comments.

    Yeh churn and burn its working mixed with a few stronger links. Seens loads of examples recently of profiles with sape and thousands of blog comments ranking top for decent terms.

    blog will work but as stated earlier you should use only those related and quazi-related to your niche, and try to use as uniqe content as possible, and maybe blast it in parts if possible, not all at once
