Blog Commenting Best Practices?

I am somewhat new to the link building game and am struggling with building quality links. I started out just commenting on as many blogs as possible that were related to the site I was working on (I wasn't even checking page rank) integrating anchor text into my posts. I'm now focusing on generating good content for my sites as well as directory submissions, but I don't want to completely ignore blog commenting? I notice there aren't alot of posts with anchor text on these blogs, so how do I go about integrating them into my posts? Or is there a better way of building a back-link within a blog post?

using anchor text a name is a first sign of blog spam :)

Instead use signature after comment like

    ..coment...

    Mr XYZ
    your anchor link

Or you could try making the name less obvious. So 'Daves Credt Consolidation Services' rather than 'credit consolidation'

If you write a good comment normally the site owner will overlook a pure anchor link name

Out of the topic I have an advice for you. Never use your email address as your username. You're giving spammers your email address so you can get spammed regularly.

Commenting on blog is a good practice as long as you keep it relevant and useful. This is a means of contributing to the community which is a good practice in Google's term.

Blog spam is out of control. Nowadays even good comments can pass as spam because of various bad filters or angry bloggers that incorectly mark your blog post as spam.

My advice is to make a big and to the point comment. Never go with a small blog comment or you will sink very quick in the spam hole.

I comment on blogs in order to build relationships with the author and the readers. That's why I usually comment on 15 blogs, and not every blog I find about my topic. I get good quality traffic from my comments.

I never use a signature, and I always use my name. I never add links to my website or products I represent inside the comment, I only add a link to my website where it says website (where you add name, email, and website, the basic information).

make blog comments your daily practice. choose relevant blogs to comment on and comment relevant to the topic so that blog owner will approve your comment. Place your link through proper keyword , anchor text. This will surely build your backlinks.

The best way of doing blog comments is by commenting on blogs related to the industry in which your website belongs to so that you will have backlinks related to your website... :)
