Today I was surprised to see my keyword fall 243 positions from the first page of Goolgle I was number 4 with that keyword for several weeks with a CTR of 2%... I put it that keyword on the top using just blog comments. The content was made for readers and not for search engines. So my question is "Why would that happen?" is because I used blog comments to rank this keyword? or was because my CTR was too low? What do you think guys?
Yeahhhhhhhhh, probably has something to do more with you thinking that a low CTR will screw your rankings.
I think it is not the blog comments that affect your keyword rankings and probably there are some things that happen and maybe it was only temporary in the search results. The rankings must be monitored regularly and analyze the website along with the GWT if there are some issues.
There are three options: -You were leaving spammy comments everywhere just to get the high rankings quickly -You were just using Blog Commenting. Which is, and I'm sorry, idiotic. You can't use just one method for getting links. -Both!
Before blog commenting, always check broken links or IP's address. Do not use your keyword in "name" section in blog commenting.
Check Google Webmaster Toots (GWT) to see if there are any crawl errors. See if the keyword is showing up in GWT Search Traffic - Search Queries. If it does, click on the keyword within GWT is see the average position in search results for that term. Has it been getting a lot of impressions but not many clicks? That can affect rankings.
