The question I have, is after finding high PR blogs that you can comment on and say for example it is PR4 and has over 500 comments with every back link from viagra to escort services, would it benefit a legitimate business getting a back link that was relavent? I am NOT after Page Rank juice, just to build backlinks. Trying to clarify if thie could be classed as a bad neighbourhood?
Surely it will be classed as bad neighborhood. Build quality backlinks. Don't run after after quantity.
Blog comments on high site for backlink are a waste of time because the links are nofollow..meaning that they hold no weight...only if you can get an link on their site is the only way to get an backlink..
Depends what you want the link for. If you want it for PR or for an SEO boost then you will be disappointed as most of these blog comments to do not pass PR even if they are followed links! The idea of blog commenting is to create value for the blog viewers by commenting and giving advice that people will find of interest. If you do this often you can become and expert or authority within your field. This in turn my provide you with click through's to your site and ultimately (hopefully) more natural links. So if looking to build your authority, go for it, if trying to get an SEO boost with worthless comments, I wouldn't bother. You may also want to bare in mind that if it is a relevant blog but has hundreds of spammy comments your comment may get lost in the crap anyway, so may not be worth the effort. Hope this helps.
500 comments, no thanks too much downside there. If you found a few with like 5 comments, especially if those blogs are in your niche I think you'd be using your time well. There are a million different combinations of ways to improve SEO, but blog comments can certainly be a part of that.
only if its not with other spammy comments like gordon gekko said. Don't spend too much time doing it, or go out of your way. But if you visit the blog regularly, you're there anyway so it won't take much effort to leave a comment.
unfortunately the high page rank is temporary. It will stay on the front page until other blog comments push you off which usually takes less than a couple of weeks then you end up filed in a page rank 0 section of the website.
