Blog Carnival Question

I desperately need to do some link building and was going to pursue blog carnivals as one aspect of this. I have two questions about this:

    1. I haven't seen anyone on this forum advocating blog carnivals as a decent way to build links, although some supposed gurus swear by them. Any comments as to their effectiveness would be much appreciated.
    2. What is the permalink that Blog Carnival wants? If I put an article on my web page, is it just the address of that page? With a blog carnival, do you actually do you submission to your own web site? That's what I am uncertain of.

    Any info is much appreciated...

You mean time consuming to write the articles or time consuming to submit them? It seems like you can just do a quick submit of your URL on blogcarnival, can't you?

Blog carnivals can be a very effective way to gain traffic and build backlinks, as well as a great way to network with other webmasters in your niche. However, this is providing you've written something of high quality that is going to garner interest. If you are just going to submit a rehashed PLR article then a blog carnival strategy probably won't be too effective.
