I tried using it though (I'm not being lasy) and It gave me an online blog. Then I didn't know how to log in or anything. I'm going to keep messing with it though. I'll host it with wordpress and buy a domain for it. Good Idea???
it sends you an email telling you what the password is it's your domain.com/wp-admin to get to the admin control panel
Thanx. I'm going to keep messing with it, and see what my outcome is. What about domains? Do you buy it and then it redirects your web page. (My host is going to be Wordpress). Thanx. d--^_^--b
no you'd need a host for that. wordpress is just software that's it. check out hosts like www.asmallorange.com etc
What is a blog? Just another type of website. Can I make money with them? Yes. Can they rank well in the SE's? Yes and many of mine rank well for various terms. What's the key to blogs? For Blogger blogs post no more than once per day. For Wordpress blogs post no more than every 4 hours. Is Wordpress hard to use? No. If you can FTP a site to your server you can upload Wordpress. If my 12 yo daughter can do it, most of you DPers can!
I tried free blogs, I tried different blog scripts. Tried wordpress for a while and dropped it (or the host dropped my blog). Anyways, when I went back to blogging with my own blog domain, I found out my favorite newspaper site (Houston Chronicle) switched all their blogs to wordpress! So back to wordpress to set up my blog and I am happy, will not switch, it is easy to us (someone like me, who can spend a few hours agonizing over setting up a script, and did wordpress, complete with template, etc in one early morning session...means anyone can do it).
Wordpress is great, just don't use the wordpress.com subdomain blog. They will take your blog from you if the name is too good.
That fast if the blog gets popular! Waiting for google to do the same (or have they already started?).
Several, getuk_telo: 1) Get links from blogs in your field. 2) Comment on blogs in your field - and I don't mean spam. 3) Register your RSS feed - you can do this by signing up to MyYahoo and grabbing your own feed as well as using Google reader and the many rss directories 4) tag your blog entries with Technorati tags. 5) buy a few PR 4 or better links over at the DP link sales. 6) put a link to your blog in your DP signature 7) get an automatic sitemap generator and register the site map with Google 8) trade links with people related fields 9) post to forums in your field 10) post everyday Not that is easy; but a hudred uniqes a day is well within reach...to give you some idea, my lingerie blog started with 0 in August and now regularily has 5000 uniques a day.
Your content is outstanding lingeriediva - which is the key. Posting comments on other blogs are of lessor value now days since the lame introduction of rel="nofollow" - this has done nothing to prevent comment spam - and everything to devalue the worth of people who post legitimate comments on blogs.
Is it just me of is the layout of the lingerie blog a bit broken? Sidebar at the bottom right corner, content in the opposite left upper half of the page... Ontopic: Getting decend ammount of people to your blog is hard work, don't expect it to be easy. I'm getting a good 1500 unique people a day now about 40:40:20, from search engines, link traffic and returning visitors. But this blog has a totally wrong audience for adsense. Pays < 0,05$ click which is terrible. But I like the subject which makes it easier to blog about. Des

LD is having some teething problems with the new layout in a few browsers....It looks great in Firefox
Yeah, I see FF now accounts for around 30% of all the traffic on my sites! I also agree with WP, such a great clean validated platform with allot of potential.
