Could you explain the role of blog in SEO optimization? My optimizator installed a blod on the website as an additional optimizational tool to help promote the website. Could you, please, clarify how exactly a blog helps in promotion of a website. Valuable readings on the subject would also be highly appreciated. Thank you
I think that blog is useful for your website as you can write various news about your site and it blog is checked by Search Engines frequently, so your site will have more possibility to be crawled soon. Also blog attracts visitors as additional source of info on your site.
Yes, use it as a tool to keep visitors up to date on changes in your company, new products and perhaps (if you have the time/ energy) news in your industry. If you make a quality blog, people will even end up linking to it, which is good for your search engine rankings.
Actually, I have been advised not to add content on the web site itself and instead add it directly to blog always, since new pages on blog have higher possibility to be ranked higher under the same keywords. Is this true?
Blogs just make it easier to add more content to your site - which is good. Also, if the blog template is setup good for SEO than it often is better optimized than your other regular HTML pages.
as they said, you can place news and other updates about your site in your blog. you can also place links in it.
im using tag tool and this tool helps for serp and rank my new blog gets about 10 unique hits from google. its only 2 weeks old.
The same can be done with good CMS & forum along with your website. The Search engine loves new content. If you put the news content over the same website, it qualifies the same penetration as that of Blog.
Is it true that Serps love blogs and would prefer it over other user generated content such as from CMS?
i used a blog at Blogger.com to make posts about the site, etc. I would make posts talking about various pages at the site, then link to those pages from the blog. I also posted about other stuff not directly related to the site. On the links I would try to use anchor text that contained keywords I wanted to optimize. Also, i did not link back from my site to the blog - all the links were one-way from the Blog to my site. I think this did a few things things: 1) gave search engines deep links to pages in my site 2) gave me one-way links with good anchor text 3) gave me a place for content that was not directly related to the site - generating a 'google net' to hopefully get more hits from search results which might then direct people to my site. YMMV
Blogs are good for business sites. They allow you to: * communicate with your customers * easily target more keywords -- especially the long-tail ones * attract links (think "tutorials" for using your products, or new product features, or news about cutting edge related products and technology) * add spiderable content to a Flash-based site (when placed in a subdirectory on the main domain) * be listed in blog directories and search engines * send out RSS feeds To find more about business blogging, search Google. Search for things like "best business blogs". I've looked into many systems and an optimized WordPress blog is usually the best solution (in my opinion).
Definitely, especially if you're using it as a business blog. It gives the most professional appearance out of all the options
For an example of a good blog for generating good traffic check the 100% autoblogger pro run http://www.ps3vault.com/ . And check its front page results for search term "ps3". Build a blog like this and instead of adwords or in addition to adwords, direct the traffic to your ecommerce site. There's tons of SEO traffic for you if you do a little keyword research and know what you're doing.
