I've been spending a bit on the Adwords content network lately, trying to drum up some cheap traffic, and I was trying to figure out where all the people were coming from. I found out that the top page was from sedoparking.com, which of course is just a parking landing page with links. So, I put sedoparking.com in my list of blocked sites. Fast forward another week, I find out that I'm still getting tons of traffic from sedoparking. I email support, they tell me that I CAN'T block sedoparking.com! I have to block the specific sites showing up. The url looked something like this: http://www.sedoparking.com/domparking.php?u=http://www.urltorealdomain.com/ NOW, here's the weird thing. The sedo parking page looked like a parking page for a real domain, but, when you go to http://www.urltorealdomain.com/ a real page comes up, not a parking one. So, I figure this is some sort of scam or something? Can someone tell why a real domain comes up on a parking site? (I'm guessing some spyware is redirecting to a parking page) And, can you tell how to block sedoparking from adwords (with out blocking the real domain) Edit: I'll just at one more bit of crazyness. Google added the report that shows where your ads are being shown. For me, they are reporting that the ads are shown at the /realdomain.com/ ... however, I know from my referal logs that the ads are being shown at sedoparking.com .. That alone is a huge cause for concern!
Domain parking pages tend to convert well for most advertisers (surprisingly), since the visitors to the site tend to be looking for specific products or services. Do you track conversions through Google (and if so, how has your campaign performed on the parking sites)?
Even if they performed well, it still bothers me that: 1. Google would not and could not block the site by URL. 2. The Performance Report LIED TO ME about which URL my ads were displaying on. They were CLAIMING to come from a legitimate site, when they were really coming from a FAKE parking site. The credibility of this report is completely ruined. 3. It worries me that an AFD site can impersonate the url real site. How many ads that should be shown on my site (I'm talking adsense here) are going to a fake parking domain? There is no way for me to tell.
In my case: Domain parking domains gave me some leads but not all traffic gets converted. Problem with domain parking pages is "Your ads should be on a highly targeted parked domains" where you can expect genuine customers could be reached at the specific parked domains
