Blocking CPM ads

Is there any way to dissalow CPM ads on either a particular site or the entire acct? Perhaps this can be done by contacting Google directly? I believe the answer is 'no' but thought I'd ask anyway...

p.s. Note: I know that I can block each of the CPM advertiser via Competitive Filter individually.

There is an option within Google Adsense to disable globally from the My Account tab or by ad unit when you create adsense code.

Don't think this is possible, I tried blocking but another CPM ad comes up.

It is very possible - just check out your adsense settings. I have posted two images. One from the page to create adsense code and the other from the My Account tab.

That's a negative, there are text/image CPM ads. But can anyone confirm this?

Info on opting out of displaying CPM ads.

You can't do it in your Adsense account at this time. a389951l, the settings you're referencing don't have any influence on CPM ads.

Apparently someone just confirmed there is no way to block CPM ads yet. In the beginning I thought I blocked them too but it was really just an illusion.

Okay - mistaken. I was equating image ads with CPM ads. But you are right GuyFromChicago text ads can be shown as CPM ads.

Just as a followup: Doesn't Google optimize it so it TRIES to get you the most revenue?

Yes, that's why I always wonder why people would want to block them. To each their own I suppose.

This URL http://www.threadwatch.org/node/4071, posted earlier, does confirm that if you want to opt out of CPM advertising you can contact Google and request it.

But, I would be wary of doing this. As was mentioned earlier, Google does try to optimize revenue, so CPM ads can increase you eCPM.

I contacted Google about opting out and they informed me that you cannot. The only solution is to place urls in the filter list.
