Blocking by IP range

Does anyone know of any free solutions to block IP addresses in ranges? I know theirs IP Deny Manager in Cpanel, but from my understanding you can only block specific IP's which is pretty useless as even static IP connections can generate new addresses. I found this software, http://coralpalms.com/software/site-firewall-pro.html anyone used it or know of other ones?

 

You can use wild cards on IP Deny Manager to block the whole subnet. But I guess there are better ones out there..

 

Do you mind giving an example of using it?

 

Let say for example's sake I am with Bigpond ISP and my IP is 210.200.100.10, Bigpond's subnet is 210.200. You would like to ban the whole Bigpond subnet. Just ban the IP "210.200.*" and it will block every IP on that particular subnet.

deny from 210.200.
