Blocking bots

I was wondering if there is a way to temporarily block crawl bots from indexing your page?

I just uploaded a new theme and I'm working on it online, I'm doing it on a test blog with no content and I want it to be "private" until it's done. Is there any way to do that? thanks

Add a robots.txt file set to deny all files.

However, if it's just a test blog without any links pointing to it, spiders probably won't find it anyway.

I have an easier solution for you. I'm assuming you have version 2.5 of Wordpress so here is what you do..In your Wordpress dashboard click "settings"
    and then click "Privacy"

then click select "I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors"
you are obviously not going to get visitors until you promote your site, so that should make it private enough for you to test your theme
