If I want to block a site do I just enter the url I see under the ad into the competetive ad filter? If not how do I find the url for the ad that I want blocked?

Yes, that would be the official way, since you are not supposed to click on your own ads. Remove the www so that both www.domain.com and domain.com and domain.com/somethingorother are blocked.
