blocking ads of which you think the pay off is low?

"The Competitive Ad Filter enables you to block specific ads, such as competitors' ads, from appearing on your pages."

my question is, can also i block any specific ad which (based on my thoughts) doesn't pay well? for example phpbb - a completely free software & free service, no ads. they must have a somewhat low budget... i also don't think i'll get 0.15 for every click on a ringtone ad, when ringtones themselves aren't more than 0.50 or something. don't think i'm getting much from a flowers supplier either.

    so? :)

The problem with your approach is that Google aims to show the highest paying ads relevant to your content. Blocking ads which you think are low paying will see them replaced with ads that are even lower paying.

I would only ever recommend blocking ads which were truly competing with your site or conflicting with your site's content.

try blocking MFA sites. Visit adsblacklist.com for lists.

A low paying site can have their ads displayed almost as much as one of the "big payers" as long as their site is attracting more clicks. There are several factors that determine the quality of the clicks that also play a big role. An advertiser that pays 30 cents max per click can get just as much traffic as an advertiser that is willing to spend $1.50 per click. Adsense is a game and you have to learn how to play it just like any other game. But I'm here now, so you DP members now have an unfair advantage ;)

guys... i've always been making about $15-25 per day on average... and for some reason, yesterday brought me $42.

~21,000 hits, ~320clicks - which makes an average click for 0,13... which really isn't bad. i believe it's the effect of having banned some ads which i thought were low paying...

i think it depends on your site, on one of mine when i added some to the filter, i get super low clicks like $0.0X from $1.XX! So just take caution when you block the sites.

i only block ads which pay lower than $0.10, and most of them are MFA.

guys, i'm not joking. and i promise you i'll never release a book on how to make millions with adsense... but... i really believe blocking some ads resulted into higher paying ones taking over...

now, on an average, a click brings me $0,12....
when i had those silly ads with ringtones, phpbb, rose supplier, hair loss crap etc it made $0,05 on average
