Hi, I was wondering if I blended my links to the background color and reduce the font size or even use symbols, would that still be a link and would google index or follow those links. I was wanted the link backs but to many link back on a page makes it look full of just links and nothing else. Any suggestions? Cheer, John
A page full of links is a page full of links no matter how you slice it. To a human "blended" links may look more aesthetic, but to a bot it'll look like you're pulling a fast one. Ask yourself, "is this a fair thing"? if the answer is NO, then don't do it. Ask yourself, "does this help my users?" if the answer is NO, then don't do it. Those are a few of the questions Google will likely ask before they deindex your site for blackhat SEO...
I believe blending invisible keywords/links into the background is considered as blackhat So it's best not to do it.
a perfect website and one that really goes on to be successful is one that doesn't hide anything. if this is the case that you are wishing to hide links you should stop there and think about redesigning your websites to allow for all the things you really want to do with it. Don't rush it, the web will not disappear! .
I have seen may sites do it with their links in content they blend it to look same as any other content, the links are only available when you move your mouse over the contents, how come they are not de-index from google or other SE's.
Maybe they will be de-indexed tomorrow, maybe next month. Also, how do you know Google still counts the links?
i think cus they are blending it in with the text which is aesthetically pleasing, not hiding the links with the background colour altogether.
Are you sure that you added the best links on your site or you just collect a bulk of useless links. This is because if you have done good and effective link exchanging with sites related to your website services, then there is no need of more links. Fetch high PR links only for better visibality in SERP's.
thats a good way of going about getting yourself banned from the big G. theres a lot of g's in that sentence.
It is considered unethical and a form of black hat. I wouldn't recommend doing it, it's to risky unless you are going to just do it as an experiment on a site that you don't mind getting banned.
The site I am talking about has been in business for 3 years and they have been using blended links in content for 3 years and are on the first page of google search results page. Its a link of my friend's site he doesn't want it to be visible as the site is not full developed but wants to put some lengthy anchor on one of my site, he has asked me to put it so that when google updates its pr next he will get some pr and his site should be ready in few weeks time. So now will it still cause problem for me if its one link going to him?
yes, google will index but google may also think that it's a invisible link or spam because of this it will hurt your seo.
