This story is the picture of outright efforts at direct paybacks for political campaign contributions to the wealthy and powerful whose big money was used at outrageous levels in the last campaign for all offices across the country:

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2012/11/28/paul-singer-connie-mack-bono-mack/1732343

Connie Mack, a soon to be ex-member of congress who has been in charge of a subcommittee that offered no legislation in the past year is offering up a piece of legislation as he leads offfice.

The guy is a lame duck member of congress. Why is he doing this now after doing nothing for a year?

The direct tie is to one of his mega contributors who also got employees at his company to make contributions to Mack's campaign and the campaign of another member of congress who has raised this issue with legislation.

I really don't know cr@p about this legislation or the issue that relates back to 2001.

What is astounding is that this guy Simon who is pushing this issue in the courts and trying to get about a billion dollars based on his holdings of Argentinian debt....didn't own the damn debt back in 2001. As a corporate investor/gambler/hedge fund operator he evidently bought this debt at deep discount (probably) in 2005.

Basically Simon is gambling. Then he pours serious mega money into a couple of campaigns to try and get the US congress to help him make money on his 2005 gamble (investment/gamble)

Connie Mack, who is now a lame duck member of congress and really should not be generating anything to represent the best interests of the US is acting for the first time this year....to try and help this guy who threw a total of hundreds of thousands in both Mack's way and on behalf of Mack's wife, another soon to be ex member of congress.

Its all about the money and is no way to run the United States of America.

Here in Canada a number of Quebec Municipalities are going through corruption scandals. Some of the problems existed since the 70's. For sure there would have been many reports of such. None make it to the media and the auditors see nothing.

High time for honest citizens to do audits. I'd say
