Blank page problem

Discussion in 'Site & Server Administration' started by renteror, Apr 4, 2007.

When I try and access one of my sites from a link like this: http://ace-bypass.info/ I get a blank page, but if I click in the address bar and press enter it works like normal.

Has anybody else ever encountered this problem?

$10 via paypal if you can solve it :)

    Thanks
    Ryan

I see that you are using Apache 1.3.37. Could you please check and paste the content of .htaccess for your domain.

That may be the problem, there is no .htaccess in there.

I did already try putting in a .htaccess from a different site, but it didn't make any difference.

Any idea what my .htaccess file should say?

.htacess is not necessary, but I see that your site won't dispaly anything only if the referrer is digitalpoint.com ( try saving this page and then take the page click on the link, then it works)

so you .htaccess code do contain something which redirects to some page if http_referrer is digitalpoint.com

Actually, it won't display anything with other referrers

What would I put in the .htaccess code?

Typically, if you do not have any .htaccess then that should not be a problem.

I just did a DNS Timing at DNS Stuff http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnstime.ch?name=ace-bypass.info&type=A and it shows a pretty poor DNS timing. That might actually be the cause of the issue.

What if you include the www to your domain name, would feature the same problem ?

I see that your domain name is registered through GoDaddy or one of its reseller. Instead of using your web host's DNS Server, maybe you can use the one GoDaddy provides for you.

It looks like just a slow time-out at your DNS Servers which causes the problem. When you click the refresh button, it would have received the DNS Record and thus show up the site.

There is actually a slight difference between resolving a .com vs a .info according to the DNS Timing at DNS Stuff. The .info requires an additional step to lookup the .info parent DNS while the .com does not require that.

The Simplefreelance.com got a A+ in the DNS Timing
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnstime.ch?name=simplefreelance.com&type=A as opposed to the F+ Rating for the ace-bypass.info .

your getting a 404, so why not check what your error log says is missing.
it could be that your server does not have correct dns for example reverse dns or your missing a www folder in your ftp which is a symlink of public_html.
