Last night I was able to access my admin panel but now I can't. I load up the login page and it brings up a blank page and I can go no further. http://ineeddiscipline.com/wp-admin/index.php If I got to http://ineeddiscipline.com it shows the blog correctly. I have 5 other blogs and none of them have this problem. I thought it might be the .htaccess file but that is showing the right stuff. I've been told plugins might cause tyhis. I'm going to delete them all now and see if that helps. Can anything else cause this?
Hi Dean, The first step to take is to deactivate all plugins - even essential ones which your blog design uses. If you can then login then you just need to go through each plugin one by one - you will then see which one causes the error. If it isn't resolved then I would recommend updating to the latest version of wordpress (I'd recommend doing this anyways) as that could solve the problem too. give me a pm if you're still stuck kevin
I am using Wordpress 2.8. I could not deactive the plugins as I was unable to login so I had to delete them all via FTP. I tried going to the admin page and got an error pointing to line 865 of wp-include/pluggible.php saying header information had already been sent? I deleted the theme I was using and bingo I can now get back in. I've tried installing the theme again twice and after about ten minutes it sends all admin pages blank (but it does not send any public pages blank, which is weird). It is a shame because I loved the theme. Elegent_Designs_Simplistic it was called. I'm wondering why it made the admin pages blank.
Actually I think (crosses his fingers and everything else) I might have fixed the problem. There was a space at the end of the config file. I've deleted that space and now I can go into the admin page.
