Oh my god it's almost as if it's points out at Blacks that they are different ! Everybody is equal on the web. Maybe that's the reason they are being shut down primarily..
I guess not... FYI: ... a whole lot of research, watching where Web surfers who lived in certain areas with large black populations, such as Atlanta, were going online. The site's creators made note of what black users were clicking on and developed an algorithm that gives "black" links more weight. -source
You have hispanic radio. Women's TV channel. BET. etc. I don't see any reason there shouldn't be a black search engine. Heck, there is a Christian Search engine. http://www.christsites.com/ Actually quite a few of them. http://www.seekfind.org/ http://www.google.com/search?q=Christian+search+engine Eric
Well yeah, those christian search engines automatically default to "Ask god" if you ever input a question in them.
Looks like another dumb idea......someone decides to start a search engine based on Skin Color? Why am I not surprised to see them close down.
That is exactly what I was thinking.... I had never even heard of this engine and I thought I was pretty up-to-date.
I don't think the main idea was because of skin color, because black people have different ways of thinking and lifestyles. Not stereotyping or anything, but they have different beliefs and values. All races are different.
Stereotyping is exactly what you are doing. All people want the same in life no matter what color they are our where on the globe they may live.
Oh dear, I didn't realize people like you were still around. I thought you were with grandma in heaven.
they obviously didn't do too good of a job getting it out to the target audience...as there are many black community websites....blackplanet.com, blackpeoplemeet.com, etc....yet i am sure that if you asked about 90 percent of african americans...on any website..they would say the same thing...I have never heard of it. Although it is not needed...African american's have a hard time finding each other's businesses..etc. As no one supports african american business..but african americans...so to have an online community to find each other is better than nothing. It isn't racist or backwards thinking, but a way to link a minority group to each other as they can't afford huge advertising budgets...
