The forum is huge post-wise and also contains a lot of past hilarity and history. It used to get upto 1800 posts per day, but now averages at 200. The activity is very random however, because say on May 26th, it go 87 posts, but on May 29th it got 570 posts! This means that the people are still there, they still visit the boards. It's just that on some days nothing fun happens, which is mainly my fault due to lack of time on my part.

A lot of what gets posted on the forums isn't of highest quality. This is mainly due to me neglecting the forum for so long. It shouldn't be too difficult to whip it back into shape. The forum software is heavily hacked. It shouldn't be too difficult to move it to the newest vB version, probably a day's worth of work. I just haven't had the time. The forum also has a lot of skins installed - a total of 19! Lots are probably not that good, but lots can be used and are quite nice.

Website is ran using a custom CMS. The CMS options are:

• Adding of articles
• Adding of pictures
• Moderation queues for both articles and pictures
• Editing/deleting of articles
• Deleting of pictures
• Complicated automatic thumbnailing of pictures (allows creating of equal size thumbnails, which looks very nice)
• Multiple usergroups (gives the admins a choice to add different types of administrators to the site, such as layout editors, content managers, etc.)
• Ability to add multiple layouts
• Registration, profile editing (now disabled as it's integrated with the forums)
• Uses the same password as the vB.

It cost me a total of $1000 to get the CMS developed, setup, integrated, layout added. Is the programmer for the site available for work? Yes, for $50/ho, some extremely high quality programming.

The content currently on the site has been all submitted by the members. It can probably be found all over the Internet. The site was built based on the members and the members are the ones who add to it.


The Wiki

The wiki is a community project, all the data there has been added by the members and is managed by the members. It runs using a default install of Media Wiki, and now has gone up to having several hundred pages.


Age of site & history
the site was created on March 13th, 2004, so it's now over 2 years old. The current domain name, lastocp.com, was regisered on 11th of November, 2004, so it's over 1.5 years old. The site has a lot of history, most of which can be read in the 50,000 post archives forum.

As thus, we have a lot of dedicated members. We have 4 people with a post count of over 12,000 and 53 people with a postcount of over 1,000. That is quite some dedication! These people are probably gonna be visiting the site till kingdom come. The forum is built in the spirit of democracy. Lots of members have been administrators and like to help around.

A very nice gaming site. The script it runs on is very good, and I kinda fell in love with the way it works. It's currently got approx. 800 users using it, and can be a really good basis for a gaming based site.

I bought this site with the idea of developing it, but I've done nothing with it lately because I'm busy with other of my ventures. The script may not be unique, this was argued over in the thread in which this site was sold to me. The script can be improved, the site can have stuff like forums and articles sections opened to generate revenue, overall, it's an extremely good starting point.

There is no real revenue at the moment and I don't have any way of measuring the traffic. I can tell you that:
1. There are 797 rows in the users table, so 800 users (with email addresses).
2. Nearly 10,000 rows in the messages table, so messaging is often used (would make a good base for a forum, I guess).
3. 767 KB of PHP code.

Both sites are on a reseller host for $15 per month which in fact hosts even more sites of mine. So total expense for running them is somewhere around $10/mo.

What's traffic like for the 1st site?

 

In May, average 188.29 unqiue hits and 8335.71 pageviews per day. Historically the worst month of the year is May due to people having exams in university/school.

 

Got some lowball offers, but not one I'd be willing to let it go for.
