Quite a few of our members engage in black hat seo tactics. I really don't like it and believe it shouldn't be done, glorified, or overly advertised. But hey, live and let live, right? What bothers me is when a major authority site is doing it. Like Dentists.com Every one of their pages has a line underneath each dentist's listings. The line is actutally no line but a code with major hidden text. http://www.dentists.com/ohio_dentists.php Anyways, digg the story if you like. I think it needs some attention
Whats wrong with this, anyway...? They arent even links, just keywords. Lots of sites do this... but most just throw them all at the end of the page.
It's called keyword stuffing, and actually no, legitimate sites don't pull this kind of crap. Now, the average site that's owned/operated by peolpe that frequent SEO forums ... that could very well be a different story
LOL ... i was searching where was the hidden texts .. then i found them pretending they are horizontal lines like <hr>
Well i don't. I just happen to land on some page, and see the stuff. I think this is true for the others. I never was a good spam researcher
"Hello, just curious about why you are participating in black hat seo activities. On all of your individual dentist pages you are clearly keyword spamming, using keywords as borders. Just wanted to get a reply back from you, as forums and blogs all over the net are posting about your activites. Josh" *Waits for an email that will never come*
The site's existed in its current incarnation as far back as 2001-ish, and probably long before... It's entirely possible that it's just outdated SEO, not necessarily black hat.
