What are the terms are included in black hat , white hat , gray hat and red hat? please tell me in detail
Black Hat - These are a set of seo techniques which are seen as being "underhand" and "spammy". Eg. Hiding text on a page. White Hat - These are legitimate ways of doing SEO. They adhere to googles best practice guidelines Grey Hat - Exploit any areas where there is uncertainty in the rules No idea about red hat.
Black hat is the stuff forbidden by Google.. keyword stuffing, cloaking, title stacking.. all the nonsense which will backfire on you eventually.. White hat are the things that are allowed and encouraged by Google... Red hat is a new term to me, but I think it has something to do with things that are allowed but will get you down in search results, for example linking a bunch of websites to eachother, but the websites are hosted on the same server.. Anyone who can clarify redhat??
i guess red hat doesn't mean anything, people just like making up stuff like that to sound innovative and advanced but really it's just another useless label that doesn't really define anything. I'm pretty sure we'll have hats of all colores soon, you just put on a new hat and say 'Hey I'm doing 'reddish blue SEO with slight shade of white' and everyone goes like: "wow, the guy must be a guru (another word worn out of meaning by the way)"
Just been having a browse and red hat is stuff that is good for seo when done within reason. Eg. Buying / creating links is good... but... Buying excessive links can hurt - so this is Red Hat.
Black hat SEO tactics / spamdexing, is an attempt to redirect search results to particular target pages in a fashion that is against the search engines' terms of service white hat methods are generally approved by the search engines. Grey hat is a hybrid of black and white, basically a hacker who sometimes acts illegally, sometimes in good will, and sometimes not. The only thing I think of with red hat is Red Hat, Inc. a company - a major Linux distribution vendor. Nothing to do with SEO though
Never heard of Red Hat as an SEO analogy, but I have heard of "Red Hat" as in the Linux distribution (and the company that sells support for it). Basically though the various "Hats" come down to three things. Those who build useful sites for people and get them rank well naturally (white hat), those who spam and manipulate the search engines (black hat -- I call these people search engine spammers, or "speamers") and those who fall in the middle.
