because not all other hosts use md5 check..bitshare did.. (and i repeat... md5 is deprecated and not sure to detect a file!)

Btw the drop of the downloads is not for that... yesterday simply all the downloads wasn't working for half a day!

 

Imagine this:
You're uploading 10 files/10 parts in one folder. First day - everything is OK, second day - 2 parts missing, third day - 5 parts missing, next few days - folder is empty (even if links weren't posted anywhere).

So, that is how MD5 is working?

 

Yesterday we had some work at the Site, so downloads are affected of 1/3 of the day.

If your files got deleted, they were reported as illegal.

Currently there is some problem with the remoteuploads, please be patient with that.

 

no md5 is a string that identifies the file... every file have a different string (this is not entirely true.. md5 is deprecate because someone found a collision, that means that have found 2 files or strings with the same md5)... when someone report a file they store the md5 of the file.. so every file with the same md5 that you will upload it will be deleted... so i think it's not that..maybe someone that report your links
tropicusBS md5 is deprecated..if you have to use this thing (others didn't do) at least use sha1

 

How someone could report my files, if I didn't post links anywhere? I know exactly what MD5 is, but I was asking if here this checksum is working in the way I described above.

 

when someone upload a file with spaces you replae it with "--".. can't you replace it with underscore "_"?

 

Glad that I didn't use Bitshare it is a pain to lose your files like that

Its because of too much remoteuploads that take a long time. We will block the slow ones!
