Biology.net - worth?

Hello there,

I am offered to buy the biology.net domain by the current holder - how much do you think it's worth? I plan to build a research portal for biologists on it, but I'm not sure if another domain name wouldnt do the trick for far less $$$.

If you want to be the default portal for biologists with an easy to remember name, I would keep the domain. If you don't see yourself getting around to building it, sell it. That domain would give whatever portal you put up instant credibility.

 

The .net kills it a bit, but still a very valuable domain name.

Oh I misunderstood the original post... he is wanting to buy it. I would say 10k is a fair range as well.

 

i'd say biology.net would be worth more than biology.com .net signifies a community, which would be what a biology portal would be, a soruce of the latest news, articles, research, etc.

 

Agreed; at least I don't think net or org hurt the value much at all in this case.

 

In my opinion, its worth $2000 (that also by seeing its date of registration)

 

High $X,XXX upwards depending on the buyer. I would definitely develop this one.

 

Ultimately it's worth what someone would pay for it. I would pay 7k for it and I don't have a biology background. I'm sure to someone with a degree in biology it would be worth the 10k or more.

My degree is in geology. I would pay 10k or more for geology.net without giving it a second thought.

I think the other appraisals are a bit high. I'd probably say low to mid $xxx.

 

I think this domain name has got potential.

Maybe $xxx to high $x,xxx

 

It's worth $x,xxx to mid $xx,xxx range.
