Pretty interesting as it would allow Bing to have almost 30% of the US search market almost instantly (up from their 8-11% depending on what metrics you follow): For more check out: http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2009/07/microsoft-and-yahoo-close-on-search-ad-deal.html http://searchengineland.com/yahoo-microsoft-very-close-on-search-deal-22651 http://www.techmeme.com/090716/p107#a090716p107 http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2009/07/17/microsoft-yahoo-search-deal-likely This will be interesting...
I still believe Bing to be mildly new still, too mild to even do any affiliate marketing. Maybe I'm wrong but that's just my .02 cents Not to mention, based on their sign up page for Microsoft Advertising, you can have UP TO 100 keywords so it says. 100 keywords isnt really all that much so you'd have to pick some vvveeeerrrrryyyyy good keywords.
It is surely an interesting read but I doubt it very much that the deal would see the light of the day! Having just launched Bing... after its failed attempt to woo Yahoo for so long, why would Microsoft go back to it again? Regards, RightMan
Same thoughts Would be better for Bing to keep improving. They are currently getting increasing traffic from time to time.
Well, I have no clue what Bing is and I seldom use it. Anyways, few days back I remember seeing an e-mail where both the Bling and Google results are displayed on two different vertical frames but on the same page.
i think that they have walked away for good from the yahoo deal..maybe would offer $10 a share at this point
If Bing doesn't, or someone else doesn't, surely Yahoo will just drop further and further back in the search market share.
Yahoo! also has other technologies like SearchMonkey and BOSS or Build your Own Search Service. The former is about getting Web publishers to provide Yahoo with data for search listings to replace metatags.
I still dont know all the details to give a good opinion on it but from what i know so far it seems like things will pretty much stay the same. The only difference is that Bing will own Yahoo which means that it'll increase it market share.
