does this mean 'search results' are getting better with bing, or is it just because of their nice pics on the frontpage?
Yes, there bot is slow and they admitted it recently. Actually, it comes and crawls, but most likely their infrastructure and DB indexing takes time *sigh* maybe they run Vistas all over the place
Running vistas for a search engine? Bing has too much resources to think about at one time so of course its going to slow down - good things take time.
As you point out, ironically you used it at least in part because Google has now transitioned from "the rebel" to "the overlord" (Apple, anyone? - just see how they get brought down in flames on certain websites and in certain news media), plus it was integrated in your browser ... which is why ... ... the fact that MS OSs (of whatever flavor) have a market penetration of 90%+ means it really wouldn't be that hard to deliver OS + browser configured with nice new prettied-up (and strangely more relevant?) search engine and chew back market share in no time at all. I've said this elsewhere, and I'll say it again ('cause I'm not sure y'all are old enough to have been around). Netscape went from being the unbeatable king of the browser hill to NOTHING, in no time at all. Why? MS just started delivering IE (free) with their OS (and it's arguable whether IE was ever a good-enough product to win on its own merits). Searching seems to me to be coming to a crossroads - and as Copywriter-ac rightly points out, it's all about search relevancy. How to find what you need when there are a gazillion search results, mostly crap, tarted up to look like they may be relevant to some mysterious algorithm, but actually being entirely useless to actual people. And all it takes is for a search engine to give different results - that don't include the same dumb SEO'd (but lame) trash as the next engine - to quickly make it's mark. Sounds like they're already onto something.
Thanks for sharing this information with us.I"ll also go with Google Bing have to work hard to compare with Google like giant and most popular search engine.
I tried to work with Bing but their tools and metrics just make no sense. Since I only get 1% of my traffic from Bing I'll focus on the others for now.
I heard that Bing will be the default browsers for Apple products like the iPhone and maybe the iPad, because the rivalry or the world are getting smaller for Google and Apple on the industry. You may want to check the current Apple news, rumors here: http://www.techgeeze.com/search/label/Apple
I wish Bing will prosper since it's very easy to rank on Bing but I'd think Bing can not compete Google in term of amount of traffic. The traffics I got from Bing convert much better though.
Google is the best though i have been searching for search engine as a keyword on google it shows bing, ask and others with relative keywords Google trys to be honest and modest. it's really driven by algorithms
