What people are not taking into account are the server farms used in Google. Your search responses speeds are great because of the investment that Google have made in the backend. Look up MapReduce, GFS to understand the technology involved. They have had a lot of experience dealing with a large number of users on their websites.

I am not saying that Microsoft do not have a good infrastructure, but it has never been tested. Bing does not have the volume of users that Google has currently, but it may not be able to cope with the traffic if/when it does.

Google is the No.1 search engine because the algorithm is dynamic and they follow the principle ladder of success.

My vote to Google till now, because of the reason that its gives me accurate results of my search.

Second there is a long way for BING to compete with Google. No doubt, BING is among the top search engines.

I don't know... I've tried bing a few times but it just doesn't *feel* right to me.
I gave it a try for about a week, but switched back to good old google.

I agree that Google needs competition. I'm not knocking Google as I use it as my default search engine, but I have to admit, I was tickled pink to see Bing. I was even more gratified when I saw my websites performing well. A keen eye and common sense can help you achieve proper position on Bing. Good luck to all!

i think bing needs more time before it will be used and bing seems like a search engine for users who are less technical than most of todays teenagers are. To me it seems like they almost took a step back in search engine technology and added some nice features to make it different from google

Well surely Google does need a competition. Not only competition I mean fierce competition but Bing by no means takes this competition post. Microsoft has a lot to do if it ever wants Bing to compete with Google

Unfortunately Google is dominant today. On my websites 80% of visits coming from Google. It means site owners like me have huge dependency in google. It is like you investing your money into one company, and if that company gone, your money gone too.
2 weeks ago my traffic fail by 70% due to Google dancing. The only traffic I got was from Yahoo and Bing, and little bit from Google. Depending on one single source is not good.
I really hope Bing will succeed. They have fresh idea and knowing Microsoft it should work.
