http://www.directnews.co.uk/news/search-engine/msn/firms-should-be-careful-over-bing-seo--$1310863.htm I had to LOL when I read this article. Even with the hype over Bing they still have a tiny market share. Why would firms be optimizing any different to target the Bing search engine Obviously it's not good to be dependent on any one search engine, but that just means getting traffic from non search sources. At least that's the way I see it.
What the SEO firm is that incompetent that they can't get traffic from Google? If you need to focus on other search engines because you can't rank on G, maybe it's time for a new profession.
@dcristo, You are making a point I most people here don't seem to get. They don't understand that it doesn't matter if a tree falls in a forest if there is no one there to hear it.
My site never ranked high with MSN but now with Bing it has dropped way down. I dont think anyone is searching using Bing but it would be nice to know why my sites are doing so poorly in Bing when they rank #1 and just below in Google? Even Yahoo I have all but number one spot on first page, and number one is a paid advertiser in Yellow Pages, which is tied into Yahoo Canada...so can't understand how Bing can be so far off mark? I won't lose any business to Bing, just find it strange....
read my article on 10 Bing SEO Tips. the thing is Bing and Google have different crawling algorithm. google is more friendlier for new contents. my site is less than a month old, i have top pr for certain key words and my seo score is 90% according to whois.sc on bing however, URL and domain history are more important than anything else.
