Bing has better conversion ratio as compared to Google. However, Bing gets low traffic share as compared to Google, but if you get some click from Bing then it will turn in lead ( on most of the occasions). The best thing about Bing is that it has a better user interface and gives you a feel of FRESHNESS every single day. Instead of focusing your optimization entirely on Google, one must concentrate on gaining rankings on other search engines including Bing and Yahoo. Google Click Fraud rate (on PPC) is far much higher as compared to Bing/Yahoo. Bing gives preference to few parameters listed below:- 1) Domain Age - Bing gives preference to the age of your domain. Google also gives preference to domain age. 2) On-Page/Off-Page Optimization - Bing gives more preference to On-Page optimization. However, Google gives more preference to off-page optimization. It is best to carefullly do on-page optimization and make sure your keyword density does not go overboard. Among various on-page optimization factors, TITLE is the most important one. If your keywords are listed in the TITLE then you will get higher rankings on both Google and Bing.
If you go over to the bing message board, you'll see that tons of people are having trouble getting listed in bing. One of my old sites is listed, but my new site isn't. The general consensus over there is that clean code is critical to bing inclusion/ranking.
Getting indexed by Google is easy. It takes about 5 minutes to get an URL indexed. Getting indexed by Bing is impossible.
i had been indexed in Bing initially when i submitted it through webmaster tools. After about a week or so of generating quality visitors from bing, my site had disappeared from bing's index. Since then, it has been virtually impossible to get bing to index my site.
I have a question about Bing optimization; if you go through all the usual steps that you'd take to optimize a site for Google (ie optimum keyword density, backlinks, unique content) would it be reflected in Bing as well? Or are there additional steps that you'd need to take? I certainly hope it's not an "either-or" type of scenario, where optimizing for one search engine might hurt your rankings in the other one. I have noticed that Bing does give weightage to the info collected from the Live toolbar users. So at least you can install the live toolbar on the PC from where you normally browse your own website.
The guys who are having trouble with bing, have you tried including your site in any social media. I have not submitted my Delhi Hotels site to bing via its webmaster tools, rather just submitted it via one of the social media sites & it is working well. This might work for you as well. Just try submitting to digg, mixx or any other SM sites.
I am having the easiest time with Bing. I was indexed within a week of creating my site. There I have the most top ten results, and I got indexed the fastest.
In Bing to be indexed, you need to add your website to some directories, which are being crawled by Bing Search Engine.
At one point I was indexed by Bing, all of a sudden it disappear, I tried everything to get it back but at this point I really don't care anymore for Bing.
Exactly same. Rank 1 for 1-2 weeks then DISAPPEARED. Even doing a www.gvoreviews.com search on Bing cant find my site. And I'm rank 1 on Google and Yahoo on my keyword - GVO Reviews Gave up on BING. They like it they index, if not, don't bother wasting too much time on the http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=3206648
