Bing is a straight Ripoff

Don't get my wrong, I enjoy Bing and the traffic that it brings, but don't you think microsoft ripped off Google a little to hard. I mean , The local results that show in the serps, the Cache results, Shopping.. etc.. Its basically a Clone of google. Why can't they just be original.

Microsoft is a pioneer of Computer software, they started almost everything. What happened to originality ?

The be honest, the people that microsoft only invented the graphic interface, just about everything else was borrowed from other companies. A lot of their networking code was borrowed from Novell and linux.

If you look at microsoft DOS commands, they are a lot like the ones used by linux.

Windows XP TCP/IP networking protocol was borrowed from Free BSD.

Windows 2000 active directory server was taken from Novell.

Rarely will the people at microsoft create anything. Most of the time they take examples from other products, change them a little bit and put their brand name on it. The bling search engine is just another example of microsofts standard operating procedure.

I don't think Bing is ripping anyone off as much as Linux is borrowing concepts from Mac/Windows and vice versa. Actually, I personally think it's a great redesign on the staunch design of the search engine. It seems MS finally beat someone - namely Google - to the punch on something. I can concede that it has similarities, but no thing more than say the dance sequence that is shared between the film Band of Outsiders and Pulp Fiction.

There's only so much you can do with a 'general' search engine.

Google looked a lot like the other SE's when it was released.... I guess it is just how well Bing can integrate it's components. This is where Google have done such a fantastic job.

People need to accept that just because a decent search engine has come out (which to be fair, Bing is), doesn't mean people will flood towards it.

The reason Google remains a success of because of the drive behind it's brand. And to develop a brand, you need to put it time, effort and a unique front that makes you better than anyone else. Google has done this, and has done this for nearly 10 years. People will stick with the Google brand because they know it's served them well, and will continue to do so.

It's like saying a new smoked pork meat snack will come out, that tastes just as nice as Pepparami. Doesn't mean everyone will stop buying Pepparami's to buy the new product - people stick with the brands they know and like best.

In the world of search, it is, and always will be, Google.
