Bing Bounce - Great Marketing Efforts or Blip?

The last few weeks as the TV ads appeared again we are seeing a big upswing in Bing traffic. There are days when every other medium is down and they're up sharply.
Last time as soon as the expensive marketing flamed out so did the growth. Will it catch this time?

I can't see a big improvement over Google on most days.

 

Bing would have to grow more than 6 times bigger than it is right now to equal Google. Microsoft has spent millions and millions of dollars on it yet Bing still loses money for them and is only minutely larger than it was before Bing came to be. None of this is the makings of a growing organization.

 

Google has taken a step back in their algorythm by putting more focus on PR and domain age in the august update

 

So you know this how?

 

I don't think so. M$ needs to keep pounding away to make any progress, IMO. Google is all about human behavior/habit. Habits can change of course, but it takes a great deal of momentum. I think that Bing quality is better than any previous product that M$ has had but it is still a long way behind.

 

I've been testing out advertising on Bing via AdCenter and it has NOT been good.

I thought the massive advertising & commercials would bring me in traffic but my market just isn't using Microsoft or Bing.
