Bing ... Bing ... Bing ... Google losing ground to Bing ?

For those of you who follow your stat occassionally, or know of related articles, is Bing closing in on Google?

    I mean even a 5% or 10% gain.

Because during the past 4 months, I've seen a distinct rise in the number of Bing searches bringing folks to my site.

Bing has definitely made a dent into Google's traffic, but I'm pretty sure Google is still number one. Everyone has been using it for soooo long, and you know how most feel about change.

No. In fact, Bing started out at about where Windows LIve Search was, at 8%. Then quickly rose to 12%. It then fell dramatically and is now hovering around 3%.

    Another stat site

Google has always been a household name since taking #1 position and Bing's double digit market share is on a down trend.

I don't know.. I am going to say that I'm very disapointed with bing, and I think that they really screwed the pooch when they launched.. I think it was pre-mature.
Reason1. Go to bing and type in webmaster tools.. who is #3? Bing.. you'd think they'd have something built in so that their own tools are #1.. how can they not even engineer their own pages / SEO to be #1 on their own site?
Reason2. Indexing pages is a joke.. I have several sites, and it consistently longer to index sites.. I'm not talking hours or days longer than the other 2.. It took 2 MONTHS longer to index me.. and 1 whole page was indexed (not even the top tier, it was a blog post from the middle somewhere).. I have submitted proper site map / robots.txt.

I also don't know why they are better than the other 2.. Yahoo is great for people who want a main hub for everything they do for the day (Email, weather, local / national news etc). Google is great for those who want just a search and nothing else (maybe to play pacman once every 25 years). I'm not sure what Bing's niche is.. an "answer engine" well If I type in flights to hawii I don't get anything different than if I went to google, it's not like I see 4 competing offers for trips.

I see that more people are using bing.. but is it ever going to be enough to impact marketing.. probably not..

Absolutely false as I just showed twice a couple posts above. Bing has lost 75% of its market share and now only holds 3%. It's as if they aren't even there.

I think Bing's limited success is due to its advertising campaign. Hipsters and the small minority who want to stick it to google will go to Bing, but lets face it. Google is number one for a reason and its going to take more than those snazzy "What has search overload done to us?" to overtake them.

My Bing PPC conversions were down in May while Google was up. Whether the difference is statistically significant I cannot tell yet. Organic traffic held steady for both search engines across multiple sites, which is actually really good news since all of my sites get a little slower when we head towards summer. My initial gut feeling is that Bing will need some work, and that they need to be growing right now, not just holding steady, if they really want to take a bite out of Google.

    I always say

    #1 Google
    #2 Yahoo
    #3 Bing

Becuase 70% my site traffic comes from google and 20% from yahoo and only 10% from bing.

Google rely on viral traffic. They are the most known, trusted and talked about. Bing have recently launched a high profile TV advertising campaign in the UK, I don't know about in other countries but more and more british people are turning to bing. Personally I thing MSN search is poor quality.

About 300,000,000+ people use Baidu, so I'm not sure how valid the stats are in this thread. I can see that BING is probably around 8-11%. I'm guessing Google 80%/Yahoo 12%/Bing 8%
