It doesn't take much imagination to know what Osama's "truce" would involve. When he speaks of "rebuilding" Iraq and Afghanistan, he's talking about reverting to the way things were. Something tells me he wouldn't accept things the way they are.

Tough call. On the one hand, to take the "Osama's advocate" position, it seems reasonable that the best defense would be to stop the offense.

On the other hand, as long as the fundamental religious differences remain, the root causes for conflict will remain. I read a great & intriguing article (whose URL I would give if I still had it) that convincingly argued that the politically correct embracing of other cultures is the worst possible position to take, since it encourages and prolongs those same fundamental divisions.

I suppose if I was in charge I'd return to a Jeffersonian isolationism (how many terror attacks happen in Switzerland each year?), and I wouldn't have dismantled the Superconducting Supercollider so we could be happily living on fusion by now.

I'm not a huge believer in "peace, no matter the cost" myself.

You know I've been saying all along that there wouldn't be any more Muslim terrorists if we took away their oil. We have the power, and we know what we want, so why don’t we just take it? Then they could go back to being poor and harmless. I don't care if a poor person in a far away land hates me, because what’s a poor person going to do to me? Throw a stick? Remember what Benjamin Franklin once said "Might sh#$s on rights back"

I've changed my mind... I don't want Muslims to be poor... I would rather they didn't exist. Somebody should get on that.

Hey Klink, Franklin also said "Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment."

Put your money where your mouth is. Join the armed forces and go over there (Iraq) and do it yourself.

    Maybe, you'll get killed.

Wow.. this surprises any of you?

Bush has let Bin Laden avoid capture all along and now that nobody supports the war in Iraq we have to get out but we can't look like we lost... so here is Bin Laden right on time to offer a "truce"...

Can you explain how there wouldn’t be any Muslim terrorists if they didn’t have oil?

Your country is taking it *cough* which is the reason why your country invaded Iraq in the first place and don’t give us that liberation and democracy bullshit

As the bumper stickers on the big rigs say "if truckers stop America stops". Guess what country is running out of oil? I wonder if they run those big rigs with coal

As ccole1968 said go join the army and do it yourself and I'll add stop being a coward and watching your soldiers die.

Before I forget – you DON’T have the power because if you did this war would have been over long ago and there wouldn’t have been a need to blackmail other countries to get involved.

My brother did a truce something like this once. I ended up in the hospital with a marble up my nose. I suggest we take caution as I know I dont want another marble up my nose!

So ask yourself, is this worth getting the proverbial marble up your nose?

A bad week to stop sniffing glue...

Why did Bin Laden secape from Tora Bora? Oh, because we sent in 24 people to do the job 20,000 should have done.

    IDIOTS!

The real question is why we only sent 24 people? Maybe because those in charge never actually planned on catching him ;)

I thought the major reason we haven't got bin laden yet is our reliance on afghan drug dealers and corrupt Pakistani forces?
