Bill Gates will be on Oprah tomorrow - 4/11 I don't think he will be talking business. The commercial said he has a "warning" for everyone, or something like that.
That was 8 days ago It was about education and how the US better get their act together in providing quality education. They are donating millions to various schools to help reform them.
Psh. American schools suck no matter how much money is put into it. Its not about the money, its the program and the teachers.
<rolls eyes>And lack of teacher support. In the Midland Public Schools no teacher was allowed to show a grade of less than 60%. The teacher has to get creative to come up with that percentage - the creativity is also known as lying through your teeth. This is the same system that had graduates that could not even name the states bordering Texas</rolls eyes> This same system is turning out National Merrit Scholars. It all depends on parental expectations.</rolls eyes>
I don´t like Gates, don´t get me wrong, the man cares about helping fight diseases and he donates a lot of money, but I just don´t trust someone that sells a product knowing it is not the best that it could be(this is also microsoft staff´s fault).
Whether or not you trust the man, he is one of the biggest philanthropists of all time. He has full-time staff that are devoted to finding charitable organizations to donate parts of a stream of cash coming his way. His donations, of course, probably have a lot to do with writeoffs and tax maneuvers the layman wouldn't understand...
I was told a story today from a reputable source that a carload of people stopped to help a man with a flat tyre that did not have a spare. The owner of the car that stopped for him had a similar car and offered his spare tyre but asked to make sure that he could bring the tyre back to him once his tyre was fixed. The man agreed and took his name and his details. The next few days he got his tyre back from a courier. The day after that the man received a letter from his bank stating his mortgage had been paid out in full by the Microsoft Corporation and it was signed "Bill Gates". This is a true story because I know the source!
Hmm, are you saying he helped bill gates? Or merely someone bill gates knew or worked with? Details man!
Being a CEO myself I can say that the amount of money he has given away has very little to do with tax write-offs. Why give away half your money to get 5%? It's ridiculous, any tax break he gets he sends right back out as a donation.
The man that this guy helped was Bill Gates. You see the man that stopped to help had no idea who he was. Never seen him on TV. He knew the name but did not know it was him at the time. No matter how popular one gets. Not everyone will know him, Funny huh?
Cool. I did a report on him back in grade school, he's a marvel of a person. He actually used to be a slacker back in elementary, dropped out of college, etc.
