Bill Gates lost to Google

Hey why does Bill Gates retire at the age of 52+ and leave it to his co-boss which is 52+? I think he chicken out from the battle with Google. I mean he never has anything nice to say about Google and now that Google has a firm foundation in the internet, he sees no chance of winning. What is your opinion?

He cares about nothing. He won the battle for the OS'es, and he is tired.

He is rich enough to stay without doing a thing his entire life :)

He's spent the greater portion of his life creating one of the most powerful companies in the world, so I don't think he's chickening out of anything. I'm sure he wants to enjoy the fruits of his labor and focus more on his philanthropic endeavors...

i don't think bill gates couldn't have cared less. he'd still be the world richest if he didn't donate a lot of his money to his own charity group.. heard dat he's happy that someone actually beat him from being the richest.. just my 2 cents anyway

What are you talking about? Microsoft is the largest software company in the world. Bill Gates retired to lead the charity foundation he had found to better the lives of our fellow beings.

If BG is really that philantrophic why not give free copies of Windows Vista? Something to think about?

To think more about it, why not give every person on the earth money instead?

He is also just married a few years back and was at the top of his game. I am sure he wants to be with his family and center his attetion in other things in life. He and his wife are heavily involved in philanthropy at the moment. Besides he got where he wanted in his life business wise. So why not? I ask. There is always a time when you reach a pinncle/achievement in your life and need to move on.

I don't think he is running from anything. Like many have said already he is rich enough and is ready for retirement in his life. Why not retire and enjoy that cash.

Without Bill Gates their maybe google never existed or died already? Because windows is still the most clientloving system on the market and maybe when windows never existed the PC would be still very rare and almost nobody used it.

You can't compare Google to Microsoft.. most people use windows but do most of them use google? I started computing 7 years ago using windows.. and I just discovered google 3 years ago.. most people know windows than they know google..

If losing to Google means he still has billions of dollars left, I wouldn't mind losing.
