Bill Gates as an individual is surely a good man...He does show a good gesture in parting with his wealth for charity...
but then.....He is in a position to do lot more . The world definitely is starved of good people and his abilities need him to fill up several such slots...and overwhelm the world with good deeds.

    Regards,

Hm. I didn't write the article. The Los Angeles Times did. Apparently you choose to ignore the facts of the article and base your decision on, um, what exactly?

And to your comment about the article, actually a series of articles, not proving anything, what does it take to prove something to you above the facts and figures from published sources they used?
They did far, far more research on the subject than you did.

Micrsoft is just the best, and Bill Gates is definitely a very generous man unlike the other richest people on the world richest list. As a business man and in this capitalism country, I don't think he did anything wrong, after all every business man wants to make money, right? If your company can't stay survive because of microsoft, that's just your problem. Either you know how to play the game or you are out of the business. Google knows how to play the game, that's way they are way ahead of microsoft in the search engine market. You cannot blame others because your company go bankrupt or not doing well. Without microsoft, I will be stuck with linux typing commands.

Bill Gates, has made computers as demanding as they can get.

If windows wasn't developed, everyone would be a computer programmer in order to use a computer properly. But, now, you don't need to know programming to use something that's more navigated through Bill Gates' inner success and amazing brain.

You're mocking because you've all got what he's done (and you probably want more), but he's done a lot and you don't know how lucky we are because of Bill Gates. He's a great man, and I endorse his businesses and practices.

If your a hater, keep your opinions to yourself. This is an appreciation thread, make your own forum or topic about hating him. People would of supported your negativity about Bill Gates, but since not very many people do, you've decided to attempt to hijack this thread. Very clever.

I Love him a lot, his inspiration, his ideology are great.. moreover I like him doing charity from his money which not more people do who can really do.. He is working for betterment of the world through his hardly earned fortune. Not to forget because of him we have the best interface a computer could really have i.e., Microsoft Windows :) I would like to meet him once in my life..

No, it's your problem, too. When a company becomes a monopoly they can dictate what you can buy, where you can buy it and how much you pay whether you like any of those terms or not. It was also proved that Microsoft threatened vendors if they tried to sell anyone else's products. It's one thing to sell a better product. It's another to prevent others from selling theirs.
That statement tells me you've never used LInux and know nothing about it.

Because you are trying to make this about me instead of the facts.
Hm. Who is drinking the koolaid if a heavily researched series by a reputable newspaper does not convince you? If that article doesn't mean anything to you, what would?

It's astounding that after so much money that he donated, he still remained the richest man on Earth for years.

Well, please don't make assumptions, I don't like linux doesn't mean I never used it. I am a programmer, and used to use linux a lot, but I never like it. Also, are you using linux right now? If not, then why you think I never use linux?

Also, why do you think google is ahead of miscrosoft in search engine, because they have better product. If you have a true good product and know the rules to play the game, you can compete with microsoft. But if you are making shitty products and don't know the rules, you can't blame others for knocking you out of business. Why netscape got beat up by IE, and still firefox exists? Well, without windows, netscape and google may not exists in the first place anyway.

No. I run FreeBSD. I don't use Windows.
See US vs Microsoft and see why. Underhanded dealings by Bill and company.
Netscape was around before Internet Explorer. Google, as you may know, runs on Linux.

well, weather google is run on Linux or windows is not my point. The point is that a majority of people who uses the internet or google run windows. Without windows, google won't be successful. The revolutionary of internet is because of people use it, its not like everyone is tech savy. Without windows, the internet may not exists or at least won't expand that fast, then why would there be google or netscape?
