Like most people I use separate email address when doing submissions but I am constantly amazed by how much spam is sent to these email addresses because of simply submitting. In my experience the biggest spammers are... 1. SmallBusinessNewz 2. WebProNews 3. Jayde (Not as bad but still persistent) I even get spam to the main email address that is automatically setup up when hosting is activated. I simply cannot believe the tactic of emailing thousands upon thousands of people per day with trash can work at all. Maybe I am simply on the wrong side of this whole thing... maybe I should concentrate my efforts on unwanted spam seeing as it apparently does so well...
just mark as spam on your free account but yea its annoying but hopefully if enough people mark it as spam then it will automatically be marked as spam on free accounts the worst offenders are the ones who ask you to click to verify and its only a signup for a newsletter and nothing to do with verification I think ientrynetwork.net are one of the worst for sending mail also they basically bought up around 300 directories and use the submitters emails to send out the SmallBusinessNewz and WebProNews newsletters
Hello... Yea webpronews is the one that always hits us daily but i just mark it as spam and when i look in the spam box before i delete them if the title is worth a click i check it out. (but agree its a little pushy sending emails daily) PS...they are all the same company We are currently doing some work on our directory network to eliminate the spam countries and have found that the largest spam submits come from, Ukraine, Russia Germany, China, Romania so those countries will now be blocked forever. These are the worst of the worst and why we decided to block them as they never submit in English nor ever attempt to pay for there reviews so unfortunately for them and there country they are gone PS... when it comes to Email spam its the USA and China whom are the worst laterz malcolm
Well what i can say it might work for them, When i was newbie on internet , i use to open such emails, i am not talking of the submissions but when i was completely new to internet in those days i could easily open spam and read it but slowly years after years i realized that its spam and now without opening , just action --> TRASH. So now you understand who might read
Well the reason they do it is becuase it does work unfortunately ... About one year ago they got a few of the major spammers in the US and most where in AZ and California, they where making around 1-3 million a year from spamming techniques (millions of people), but now doing federal prison terms. laterz malcolm
The iEntry network is notorious for this. Vilesilencer has been removing all of their sites from his list for some time now, because of the emails they send. Here's something concrete we can all do about this: add sites like http://www.getsafeonline.org/ to our directories. That's a UK one, but there are probably others like it for different countries. I'm sure some of that 97% is down to people who just need a little more advice on using email.
i get massed with webpronews every day on all my primary accounts ... Curiously, they hit inbox every time
if you use gmail and mark it as spam, gmail is pretty good about putting any future emails from them in spam. you could also do this with a filter.
Correct. All of those ones identified above are iEntry-based newsletters. You actually get all of them when you simply sign up to Jayde (and a lot more besides). You'll get the following auto-opt-in newsletters if you submit to iEntry directories: WebProNews has the address WindowsDailyNews has the address SearchNewz has the address WebProAsp has the address DevWebPro has the address Small Business Directory Network has the address MarketingNewz has the address SysAdminNews has the address FlashNewz has the address WebProBusiness has the address SalesNewz has the address SmallBusinessNewz has the address WebSiteNotes has the address DesignNewz has the address NetworkingFiles has the address That's a list we identified about 6 or 7 months ago. There might be lots more now...
