    Hello Digitalpoint Members,

    The Competition
This is a competition with a difference, You are competing to win an employed position with our company, further detials of which can be found below.

We want you to take the design below and add a scroll over flash feature to it (like apple have on itunes) where the boxes are, the slides will display our network of websites (your first job will be to design this network of websites). We would also like you to add any features that you think will make it look better.

Below is a larger outlook on who we are and the position on offer.

    Who are we?
GigaNu is a hosting related company which is hoping to expand its services and to create a large network of successful, High quality and user friendly websites.

Who are we looking to Employ?
GigaNu are currently looking to add a new member of staff to there team. We are looking for a highly qualified web designer, who also has experience with php (although not essential) and can manage a forum. There is a complex feature on our websites which has to be completed with flash, and this is why we require that you are highly experienced. We would also you to be fluent in English, this is because you would also be required to write content for some websites.

    Requirements
We require that you have MSN, so we are able to talk to you frequently, and we also require that you speak fluent English and have a portfolio of your work. You need to be comfortable working with flash and completing work with a dead line.

    What do you receive?
In return the new employee would join the company and receive 25% of the monthly profits. Once fully established this could be in the high $X,XXX per month. You would also gain access to our websites services, some of which are worth alot.

    Contacting Us
If you are interested and what to find out some more information the either PM me, Or add me to MSN. You can also post here, although we would prefer it if you contacted us direct.

The designer who we feel has put the most effort and time into the project, and has created the most user friendly and best looking design will be offered the job.

    Thank you for your time

    GigaNu

I assume that no one is interested in this competition?

Maybe my suspicions that there are no good designers here is right

maybe the good designers out there are not looking for a prize like that. not many want to be employed ....... by one single company its running a change on it becasue the site is not yet established. if you were to offer a solid prize of say $2,000 you would get hundreds of people designing your site and what not.

I could do it but not for employment. I can put it together for $1200. But considering the previous insult I think I will charge you $3000. Let me know.

    Thanks,
    Ray

    Wow,

Jon that was one of the most tactless posts that I have read in a long time. Digital point is full of talented designers, I see their work every day. Just because your contest didn't entice them doesn't mean they aren't here.

My mother used to tell me "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". My mom was full of good advice.

Aside from your insult, your offer isn't even that great. Being the lead flash designer for an unestablished site would most likely mean boat loads of work for only 25% of the profits is a bit too low. You would be better offering a flat rate for the first project and a percentage of future profits.
Currently a lead interactive designer's salary is in the neighborhood of 60-70k +benefits without having to submit an entry to a contest.
