If you are asking if that is one of the biggest forums around, I think that IS the biggest forum on the net.

    As you can see: http://www.big-boards.com/

That forum is 3 times bigger than IGN forums, etc.

there must be some law of physics that states

"the bigger a forum gets, the more crap is posted"

if not, I just wrote it.

600 million posts? I hope google delists it...only the most recent 30 days will ever get read.. the rest will just be cyber clutter!

Out of all those mods, I wonder if he remembered to add the Forum Archives Mod. Without it, no pages will get indexed.

    Results 1 - 1 of about 59,000 from www.gaiaonline.com for . (0.14 seconds)

That's exactly why they should change to vbulletin.

    Edit: nvm, saw Shawn's reply.

Didnt WMW do that at one stage?

well, as the point of that forum is too accumulate gold (mainly through posting but also through the many games) to buy stuff for your avatar like clothing, houses, etc, you do get a lot of crap posted for the sake of the gold. There's even a forum called Chatterbox or something for when people want to post crap to increase their gold. This was formed to help prevent the 'proper' forums from being flooded with gibberish.

That being said, I used to post on that forum but gave up, one of the reasons being that it was FAR too busy for me to handle it (the other being the amount of teenage yaoi fangirls there, which just creeped me out. threads about 'kawaii boy sex-slaves' and the like). I mean, you click on a forum to see the threads, and by the time that the page is loaded up the threads you see have already been bumped down to the second or third page :( Same goes when viewing a thread. often, by the time you've clicked on the thread the post count has gone up a few pages. I have no idea how those people manage to keep proper track of several threads at once. i mean, I often encountered people have several real-time conversations (with decent, paragraph-length posts) in multiple threads all at once! What in the hell!

LOL.. you are right.. There has to be a 'natural limit' to how busy a forum can get before it just turns gibberish !

I have no idea what that would take but have noticed the busier the forum the more chance there is of seeing "6 views 1 reply" as opposed to "300 views 25 replies" (if you know what i mean) Its like posting into thin air...and you may aswell post your comments in your own blog to get more reads.
