One of the Biggest Blow to the Indian Economy (NALCO to Shut Down it's operation within few days)

    http://www.projectstoday.com/newsr.asp?newsid=22666

It consumes 2500 tpa to generate heat for refining purpose. For the Last ten days there is no Supply of Coal.

On the Contrary, India is the World's Third Largest Country in Coal Production.

Hope there is nothing more to come.........

NALCO was the company which was awarded a Gold Trophy in 2005-06 by Engineering Export Promotion Council.

Refining bauxite or aluminium ore into aluminium requires a lot of electricity and each refinery is often than not custom made for the requirements of the different grades of bauxite. It is a waste as if the refinery is closed down, the mine will be laid to waste to. It is a double loss for the Indian economy.
