Hi, I have seen hundreds of forum threads about the best e-commerce platforms but I am strongly considering big commerce. Has anyone used them and if so, a thumbs up or thumbs down would suffice.... Looks like the bandwidth overage charges are 5 bucks a gig on bandwidth and 10 bucks per 100mg on storage Thanks!
First of all , I would like to tell about ecommerce . ecommerce is the process of buying and selling product. Yes, I am also strongly considering bigecommerce .
BigCommerce is great. I have 2 stores currently running their platform www.99centsticker.com www.SupermanStuff.com They were both setup easily using templates already in the back end of BigCommerce. I had to edit the colors and add images and such, but it isn't too difficult to figure out. The main thing, besides product, that I focus on daily is advertising and getting my sites seen. It's a tough market out there for Superman products, as you can imagine. The sticker site has a hook to it, so we get a lot of people that way, but it really is less of a serious business than my Superman site. I'm about to have my first $1,000 week on the Superman site. I'm doing little things now to increase number of items purchased, etc. It's all trial and error. If you have the outside income to start something and make it great, it will pay off. Having the drive to work on it as a hobby, for no money, is how great websites are started, ecommerce or not. PM me if you have any specific questions.
Ive never heard about Bigcommerce... thejared: Could you please tell what made you choose Bigcommece over a much more known system, like OScommerce...?

A lot of things. They are always updating the system with new features, one I'm excited about coming out soon is MailChimp integration. If you need help they are always a phone call away and everyone is very knowledgeable. They also host the sites, which can be bad and good, but I haven't ran into anything bad about it yet. They have a 15 day free trial and it gives you all the features of the purchased version.
Appreciate all the feedback. I have found very little negativity on the internet regarding big commerce. I am using the 15 day free trial and so far it is easy to use and flexible. I will be happy to move one customer over from yahoo stores which appears very dated but has served us well.
