How does MagentoGo compare to Magento (self hosted)? Are all of the options still available? Is it easier to maintain or do you still need a Magento developer to help navigate?

Magento has lots of features and is still free but I still prefer BIG Commerce. We do not need to worry more on technical part when working with Big commerce. I have no idea about the rest.

One more thing to consider is how easily you can move data from one webapp to another. Easy integration is important for saving time and money. No one has the time to re-type the same data in different places. I encourage you to have a closer look at Magento, Shopify and Bigcommerce, which all have good integration options to both CRM, accounting and email marketing solutions.

Matt up there hits the nail right on the head. What kind of programming/coding experience do you have? What kind of budget do you have to allocate to this type of thing?

If you're not experienced with code & programming, the free version of Magento might not be for you. Working with a licensed Magento developer is the best way to get your Magento site looking and functioning exactly the way you want it to, so it's going to wind up costing you money despite being a free-to-use solution.

Bigcommerce, on the other hand, is a paid solution, but gives you themes that work for you basically right out of the box. I've seen really nice-looking webstores get set up in incredibly quick timeframes, and a lot of their themes are responsive, which is a HUGE plus.

    Hope this helps!

Magento is extremely powerful but not the most user friendly. Let me know if you want an example of a magento site that I own.

When we have to choose between bigcommerce or Magento then we have to focus on various factors as pricing, payment gateways, templates, key features etc. Bigcommerce is leading eCommerce platform as compare to Magento. But the cost of Magento is cheaper than bigcommerce. It depends upon your requirements, Magento wins on the bases of pricing it also allow you to create multiple language version of the stores. bigcommerse give you a free trial. So before choosing any platform I recommend you to get full knowledge about both.

Bigcommerce is best. Bigcommerce is easy to set up, easy to navigate and best SEO configurations of all the major platform.
Bigcommerce also offers excellent customer support.
