Big Update, right now?

Was there a big update on google just now? I moved quite a bit on various keywords, some up some down. Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

 

SERP update is a done on a live data basis.

 

Check what data center you are pulling up.. I am only guessing but I bet it is 66.102.7.18 . Just a guess. You do this by clicking on the cached version of your page

 

I'm pretty sure SERPS are updated weekly,daily, or whenever. It's not done on a big update basis like PR updates.

 

No - seeing nothing here whatsoever and I do not think it is happening either..

Yeah definitely big one is held at the moment SERP for competitive keywords change every 3-4 hours. And Google started to show some results like "dir > category > subcategory" instead of "dir/category/subcategory"

P.S. Bing is also on a big update today.

 

Gearing up for Black friday and Cyber Monday I presume.

 

I doubt this was a mass update of any kind. It was probably just a coincidence that your site was next in the cue for deeper indexing.

No, there isn't a big update going on. Website positions are just dancing again in Google. New websites that are promoted X times for the same keyword are suddenly on top and a few days later back on page 75. It's just Google that is testing some sort of new algorithm I guess

Yeap they are messing with something today for sure.

 

i think so to seeing drops from vistors on my 4 yrold site, been tracking google for 4 yrs, and no its not a penelty or backlink issue

 

I had that in the morning. My sites on few of the keywords that I'm on the second page and third were on the first page. Not anymore though.

 

One website moving up or down, even if they are big moves, is not an indication of an update.

Hey all, What people are seeing is a shakeup and it has been happening all day. Basically what it seems to be is the caffeine data center being bounced from data center to data center. well caffeine is definitely fluctuating cause my site is dropping fast in ranking.

 

I saw some good movement today after a few days of stalling.
Actually I thought Google had been rather quiet the past several days until today.
But looks like they are back to normal and constantly moving everything again.

 

I monitor my keywords via my iphone app and I can say there was tons of movement today on ALL of my keywords I monitor.... Up and Down all day... Not normal.

 

From number 1 my websites fall to number 3 in SERP's. I guess, I still have to exert more effort in building my links to other sites.
