I've been wondering about big sites like Amazon and MySimon and the like which have been around since the mid 90's. When they add a new product page, do they get the SEO benefit of the site being around for so long or does G count that as a new page just as if someone put up a new 5 page site just for that product? It seems to me that these sites are getting the benefit of being "authoritative" on all these products just because they are big and have been around forever, thus G giving them the first page ranking on all products under the sun.
I'd say that they get some favor for their domain being older but to say that they can rank for anything under the sun is quite a bit of a reach.
Site like amazon ebay etc are crawled serval times per day because of the many changing pages and products and how many visitors are on the site.
since SEs recognize these big site bcoz of the regular update, they definitely have some advantages...
