big sites and hotlink protection permalink

    I have been thinking about adding hotlink protection but then I went to 10-15 major sites and none had protection. obviously they are successful, so it seems protection is not good. thoughts? if google or espn or even sitepoint doesn't protect why should I?

    if you've some special content or you are selling images, then it worth other wise no proper use.
