I have a site with a big discussion forum of 800,000 posts but it doesn't show on Yahoo.com. Why is that? Is there a way to appeal to Yahoo for what is an obvious mistake? Jon
I suggest that you submit a site map. Also start buzzing content and even posting to groups and Yahoo answers.
Well, I am telling you that maybe you need some presence within Yahoo. Yea, you may have ten million posts in your forum. But have you worked on creating backlinks? Your comment let's me know that you have not worked on that. Specifically for targeting Yahoo.
There is something else wrong. It must have been banned at some stage or some other weird reason. I have 700,000 pages in Googles index but only 1 in Yahoo.
I must have some kind of ban otherwise more of my site would have been indexed. I am all over Bing.com and Google.
You have to understand that each my work different. Therefore instead of expecting it will just index your site. You should also do your part.
Have you ever checked by typing your site in the Y! search box rather than checking for "ADD URL". Now You will be able to see the number of pages indexed by Yahoo. Please use this link to check the backlinks of yahoo.
Using your link, it says inlinks 310. I did type my site into the Yahoo search box. So as you can see, something is up.
Which aint much for yahoo. While google might show 5,000 link in your google webmaster tools, yahoo might show 10,000+ links in yahoo site explorer. Yahoo seems to pick up more links then google. Have you checked the robots.txt file to see if you disallowed yahoo?
what forum script are you using are you using phpbb or a paid one as the free ones dont auto add seo if you have no seo you will not get crawled which means you wont show up also the age of your site has nothing to do with it really
I have a site that is fully indexed in Yahoo and that only has 226 inlinks. I am using vbulletin. I can provide the url is it is allowed on here.
