Big Site and Deleting URL's

I started a pretty large site that sells tickets to event..I pull a data feed into the site. I've got a few thousand pages indexed by Google, but since the tickets and the url's I'm linking to are no good after an event has passed I'm wondering if it is a bad thing if I then delete the url's or posts? When Google comes back and dosen't find them will this negatively effect my site? Does anybody have experience with this sort of thing, or what is the best way to keep this site search engine friendly.

    Thanks

I would just keep the links. Google cares about content and when you delete all your content they dont really like that. I know it might make sense for your customers sake if the pages are not there but i could see this hurting your SEO. Dont do it.

You can change or modify your content but you should never delete page from the site becuase Google regard as negative thing. If you don't want to any particular page than you can give instruction to your Google Robot, don't crawl that particular page.

If you are really having disk space problems then delete them else keep them.
